Sessions
Psychotherapy sessions last 60 minutes and are not less than once weekly in a long-term contract. The current fee is £55 per hour.
Payment of Fees
Payment is normally made at the end of each session for short blocks of counselling or psychotherapy. Once a long-term contract has been entered into, you will be invoiced in arrears on the first session of the following month.
Holidays and missed sessions
I will give you good notice of my annual holidays during which I will be unavailable. These are typically two weeks at Christmas, two at Easter and four in the Summer.
If we have agreed on an open-ended contract, we will find a day and time during the week which will work for both of us. We are then both agreed to keep that time for your session. I would require payment for the session even if you are unable to attend, unless a holiday or break has been jointly negotiated well in advance. If either of us is unavoidably unable to make the session, every attempt will be made to find another session during that same week. If you are unable to accept an alternative session, payment is still required. In the case where I am unable to provide the session, there would be no charge.
For short term work, we can proceed on a more or less ad hoc basis, with the understanding that, if we do not have a fixed time slot, I may not always be able to find you another time in that week.
Hours of work
I do not offer sessions at the weekend. In general, I am contactable by landline (usually there will be an answerphone) or email if you need to advise me of illness, lateness or other practical matter. I will attempt to reply as soon as possible during the working week.
